Big school

Katie recently moved from the baby care nursery to the pre-school nursery.

A big step for one so small.

And quite a change but she seems to be enjoying it and it certainly tires her out.

Before she moved up we had a visit to it, Urs and I taking Katie up from the baby nursery for a while. We were supposed to stay for only an hour but just as it was time to go Katie spied lunch arriving and sat herself down at the table in front of a plate and cutlery with the other children. Rather sheepishly we asked if it was OK if she stayed for lunch, which it was.

That's my girl Open-mouthed.

Tubby toast and other Teletubby obsessions

At breakfast Katie now asks for "Tubby toast".

It's exactly the same as regular toast. It just has a different name.

The Teletubby obsession has also extended to when she wakes up. I overheard her the other day reciting the Teletubbies' names in her cot.

On the way to nursery I ask her what colour each character is and she knows the answer.

And today she somehow got me to do an impersonation of each Teletubby and their favourite thing.

Some things are best done at home rather than in the office.

Playing in another park

Photos from a recent trip to the park undertaken by Katie and me.

Playing in the park

Urs and I often take Katie to the park separately at weekends so the other one can rest or get things done.

On Sunday we all went together.

We bumped into two mums from our NCT group.

And we had fun.

Counting to 20

Katie can count to 20.

Assuming you don't mind 14 being missed out.

And 11 sounds like "yellow" to me.

But let's not get picky. It's all happened so quickly.

A toddler group for dads

I've mentioned this before but it's worth an update.

For the past two months I've been to a toddler group where dads take their little ones along.

It's once a month. Next one is March 28 at 10am.

Last month 14 of us went.

I'm the only dad who doesn't wear blue denim jeans, it seems, but that's OK.

Dads are tempted along by the lure of nice bacon sandwiches and a cup of coffee. The kids like the stuff to play with and get to run around a church hall.

All good fun.

Any chance of seeing some more dads next time? There's no churchy element to it, if that reassures you.

Lots of fun things to play with:

Including toy toast:

And here's what you get once it's over:
